"World War Z" , Max Brooks. Like a Clancy or Coyle book in some ways. Frightening perspective on how governments react to crisis. Will want to see the movie eventually.
"Inferno" Dan Brown.
I like to re-read the Ian Fleming "Bond" books. So much more intense and raw than the movies.
And , of course , more digging through "Common Sense,The Rights of Man" Thomas Paine.

Just finished a new bio on T. Jefferson... fascinating look at the politics of the 18th century.

Now reading July 1914 by Sean MacMeekin, an intimate look at the high level mind games between diplomats and the colossal screw ups that lead to a war no one really wanted, least of all Germany.

Started reading A Song of Ice and Fire books. Up to Storm of Swords. Really enjoying it.

I'm just about done with Game of Thrones (after having seen the first three seasons of the show). I love them both, but the books are just so long. I can read 40 pages a day and feel like I don't even make a dent in the book haha.

That is one difference with now using a Kindle. I don't see how gargantuan they are and just read for enjoyment.

Just finished "Slumberland" by Paul Beatty. A bit uneven, but has some a lot of sheer brilliance mixed in. Writes like Quentin Tarantino would if he was actually black, more literary rather than mainly pop in his cultural references, and a novelist.

Got a chance to do some reading while traveling last weekend...

Stephen King, "Joyland"

Just a nice easy read outside of the typical Stephen King mode, basically a coming-of-age story at a spooky carnival in North Carolina, full of King's nostalgia for the '60/70s and his apparent love of carny lingo.

Dan Simmons, "Endymion"

Finally got back into Dan Simmons' Hyperion universe, and this one is just as good as the two before it--and it really leaves you no choice but to hurtle on through into "The Rise of Endymion". Simmons is an absolute master of plotting and cliffhangers. Father-captain Federico de Soya is a complex character and a great addition to the series. I have to admit I was not expecting Frank Lloyd Wright. :)
