You're awesome jwins!
I made my comment for two reasons:
a) I wouldn't want to put up with the shit that he did, and more importantly, b) I'm just not interested in a rogue-lite game with a three-day restart.
I'm honestly curious to see how they pull this off. I'm not optimistic, but if they did it right, the amount of sneering and random shade being thrown at him by people passing by would make for quite an immersive experience.

It would feel very wrong to start acting out the "mini Jesus ran away from Mary/Joseph to go spend time at His father's house" part. Do you play that as the parents? And have to search all of the random places first?

Testing out the latest destruction physics with Jesus' "Not in my father's house" cleansing of the temple would feel spectacularly sacriligeous.

Have to switch forums to discuss the "Do you want to be God today" topic.

This game has so much sacrilegious potential if they actually give you some choices playing as Jesus. GTA: Nazareth would be a bizarre and amazing video game.

Heal the man with leprosy? Nope -- gross!
Raise Lazarus from the dead? No -- zombies are creepy.
Stop the mob from killing a tax collector? Not a chance!
Hang out with prostitutes? Absolutely.

Judas is trying to sneak away from dinner -- what do you do?
  1. let him go and await your fate
  2. Speak with him and try to talk him out of it
  3. Stab him in the back
Pontious Pilate asks if you are the "King of the Jews" -- how do you respond?
  1. "So you say"
  2. Remain silent
  3. "You're goddamn right."

Zombie mode (aka endless enemies) are very popular modes. Now you have fresh new settings for this.

Meanwhile there's a zombie-like but with a final outcome mode for being sent down to defeat death.

There are not degrees of sin that separate you from righteousness, but they might make an exception for our brainstorming here.

Can you hear people's prayers?

What if they pray to the baby Jesus and you're not playing baby Jesus?
Have fun with the minefield of whether to code in prayers to saints. And yes, that would be an absolute sticking point for both sides with no self awareness of taking a moral stand in a game like this. Yes I just chose truly wicked things to happen but that other scene isn't even close to Canon.

GTA was very popular for having overlapping stories (albeit with truly hideous characters). Now they're going to monetize the trilogy, or 3 paths at once.

Hogwarts Legacy. Only problem is my 14 year old daughter and I both want to play it, so we’re taking turns. We both have about 10 hours each logged since I picked it up after work Friday for the PS5.
