Only for a week. Ever been there? It's pretty nice. The campsite is on a bluff over lake Superior... there's a river that runs alongside it, too. You get to go to sleep to both seashore and waterfall noises. Quite nice, indeed.

The UP... well, it's... interesting. It's kinda like the Unabomber meets the nice lady cop from Fargo. Very friendly (for the most part), with that ol' backcountry accent (don't'cha know?), and yet, just a little bit unsettling.

As far as the cliff jumping... I'd probably die. Just tromping up and down tose hills has reminded me that I may have lost a good bit of weight recently, but I still have a long way to go to get into any semblance of fitness.

The area kinda reminds me of the Appalachians (I have family in Tennessee), so it was very soothing and much like being back home. Anyway, just wanted to share a bit with my Buckeye family. I'll see if any of the other shots are worth posting... nothing really profound, though.

Yeah, the cliff jumping was back when I could run for miles on end... not sure if I'd sink or rise to the surface rapidly from my added cushioning.

It gets stranger the further north you go in MI... more "different" than "scary" tho. Very pretty area, lots of private, gorgeous lakes.

I always enjoyed driving north in MI to go skiing, and watching the traffic shift to 80% snowmobiles... usually traveling in large packs, all with brand new snowsuits to match their transportation.

OK. A few more... for those of you who seem to be gluttons for punishment :)

Sorry, imageshack seems to have downsized a few of these. If anyone wants the biggies, I can try it again.

We named the chipmunk "pig."
