Caught on Tape: Mississippi Coach Caught Whipping High School Student

A Mississippi high school basketball coach caught on tape whipping his players has defended the punishment, saying he was trying to "save these young men."

Murrah High School coach Marlon Dorsey has since been suspended for violently paddling his students' backsides, but at least one of the players' parents says the punishment is insufficient.

I've been mulling over making a move down there for employment. I really, really don't want to because I hear/see stuff like this a lot from that region. My uncle lives down there and said that it's a different world. Not sure what the singles scene is like but I'm not optimistic.

I gotta tell you that the south is a different place.....I live in NC and they call you a northerner here. I can't imagine what Mississippi is like....I think major cities are probably okay, but I live in an area about an hour out of Raleigh that is a little more rural........cue dueling banjos..

The south is awesome. I've lived in different southern states for a good portion of my adult life. It isn't Ohio, but it's still fun. You can't throw a rock without hitting the side of some hole in the wall restraunt that serves food so good that if you put a plate of it on your head your toungue will beat you to death trying to get to it. If you're friendly, southern girls tend to be very friendly. You really haven't had fun until you've gone muddin'. Now, maybe because I'm a slow talking country boy I fit in a little better, but I always have fun when I'm with my southern friends.
