I haven't gave it an entire listen yet.. I am a bit hesitant because that last album, Make Believe, was complete shit.

I gave the "Red Album" a preview on Amazon. It did not sound too good, and is definitely not even close to the Blue/Pinkerton days... IMO

The day of Weezer being in my CD player has been long gone.

I'm very disappointed. I wasn't big on "Make Believe" but I think this is even a step backward from that. "Heart Songs" and "Pork and Beans" are the only standout tracks. Those are even far cries from some of the classics on the Green, Blue and Maladroit CD's. Giving the other members a chance to sing was a huge mistake and pretty much is the death blow to this album. (IMHO)

I apparently feel even more emphatic about the demise of Weezer than you--I don't think they've produced an album worth a damn since Pinkerton. What a fall from grace, because their first two albums really were outstanding. This is almost akin to a Stevie Wonder fall from grace.

This album is crap. I've heard most of it on satellite radio, and am not impressed at all. I'm one of the seeming few that thought even the Green Album was very good, and found some things to like in Maladroit. I bought Make Believe out of a sense of loyalty (for lack of a better word). I don't think I'll even download this new album.

I agree, I think the Green Album was the last great Weezer album. Maladroit was a bunch of B-sides made into an album.. The original B-sides were 100x better than the album release versions.

I remember when I first heard "Beverly Hills"... I then knew Weezer was dead.

I enjoyed it on 1st listen, but it's not an album I can listen to repeatedly, that's for sure. maybe it was the fact that I have a soft-spot for old Weezer and had heard that this album was to be a return to form.

Blue Album: Classic, still listen to it a lot. One of three or four albums I own that I love every single song.
Pinkerton: Good for what it is, an experimental type of album. Need to be in the mood for it though.
Green Album: Loved it when it came out, but not something I can throw in at any time and listen to like the Blue Album.
Maladroit: Just a rushed effort. Has a couple good songs, but mostly filler.
Make Believe: Also, a couple good songs sourrounded by filler.
Red Album: Same.
