Groza

BB73 - incorrect, please wait 3 minutes before answering again. He didn't play varsity football at tOSU, but he wasn't at tOSU for 4 years.
i take it this article is incorrect...
Scout.com: OSU Notebook: Harley's No. 47 To Be Retired
Groza attended Ohio State, but never played for the Buckeyes before going on to professional football.
... edit (gotcha)... didnt read the full response

Glenn Ashby Davis

Great answer.

Glenn 'Jeep' Davis. He was a world-record holder in the 400m hurdles who won 3 Olympic Gold medals in '56 an '60, and ran track at tOSU from '56 through '59. He never played for tOSU, but played for the Detroit Lions in '60 and '61.

I still haven't come across anything that confirms whether or not Yonamine actually attended OSU

BB73 - there's no way he was there for 4 years. After high school in Hawaii after 1945, he enlisted. He was discharged from the US Army in 1947, and signed for the football 49ers that year, rather than accepting a football schollie at tOSU. He switched to baseball in '48.
