He was born in Chicago

Correct, his father moved to Chicago to work for the Tribune, and after moving to Columbus in 1907 when Chic was about 11 years old, the younger Charles got his nickname from the city he came from. Also, when he was in high school, the nickname was often spelled 'Chick'.

Next question coming right up.

Pitt, UM, ND

Correct, as it was when you posted 1 minute early. :wink2:

Fans thought that Harley might attend ND since it would be closer to his family, who had moved back to Chicago before Chic finished high school. At the start of his freshman year, he wasn't at the first week of football practice and there was a rumor that he had enrolled at TSUN. After his sophomore year, there was another rumor that he would transfer to Pitt, after he had attended the Pitt-PSU game.

Last question coming right up.

howard courtney

Correct, tackle Howard Courtney. It was a misdirection play in which Harley lateraled to Courtney. Coach Zuppke of Illinois knew that tOSU had run the play against Wisconsin the week before, but he incorrectly thought it went to Hap Courtney (Howard's brother who played the other tackle position), so the play was wide open.

The contest will return tonight at 7:30 ET.

In October, 1980 Rick Anderson of Purdue scored 18 points via kicking (5 FG, 3 XPs), setting a record for a Big Ten Conference game. Whose record did he break?
