Week 8 Polls

I don't agree that ND should be ahead of us in the polls. Although I can see an argument as to why they could be one spot ahead of us, it certainly isn't true that they should be 4 spots ahead of us, as they are in the AP poll (14 vs. 9).

Here's my case:

We both lost very close games to one of the two teams that everyone would probably agree are the two best teams in the nation, and arguably we lost to the one that is playing better football right now. Otherwise, we lost to PSU, who's currently 13 in one poll and 12 in another, whereas they lost to MSU, WHO WE BEAT and is currently 22 in both polls.

Moreover, they've beaten Purdue, scUM, Pitt, and Washington, none of whom are ranked in either poll, while we've beaten MSU, who is ranked 22, and Iowa, who just missed out on the rankings in the Coaches' Poll.

Simply put:

OSU beat MSU, MSU beat Notre Dame, Notre Dame beat Michigan. Therefore, OSU > Notre Dame AND OSU>Michigan .

We could take this a step further and make a case that if we tie PSU at the end of the year, we should be Co-Champs because:

OSU>MSU>Notre Dame>Michigan>PSU

heads up: OSU<PSU . Therefore: OSU = PSU

How in the fuck did Notre Dame stay 9th in the AP poll??? That's just a joke. The media is sucking Notre Dame's cock for ALMOST winning that game yesterday. You'd have thought they won. The game was at home...and they lost by 3. Hmmm...I know another team that played a home game and ALMOST won but lost by 3 against the other best team in the country. Yet of course the Buckeyes dropped in the rankings after that loss. Notre Dame is 9th? What a joke!!! WHO HAVE THEY BEATEN?!?! Now they will go on and win the rest of their games, since they have the easiest schedule left of any Top 25 team. What a joke. And Penn State is ranked lower than us in the coaches poll? Again...not a good vote. As much as I hate Penn State, they still should be ranked ahead of us. They beat us, AND have a better record. Can't wait to see how bad the Harris Poll looks this week.

I'm not arguing that we would definitely beat ND simply b/c we beat MSU who beat ND. I am simply saying that if you compare our resume to theirs this year, ours is more impressive. We've lost to better teams (USC and UT are a wash, and PSU is better than MSU (at least they're much higher ranked)), and we've beaten better teams. That's all.
