Week 8 Games Discussion

As awful as that call is, there’s something deliciously ironic about Pitt being the team fucked by a ”spot at the start of the slide“ since they are the reason that rule exists.

that call wasn't horrible. You see QBs all the time mess this up and cost their teams a first down by sliding too early. It's a good rule if you are going to penalize a defender who breathes on a QB who is starting to slide.

It didn’t look to me like he was starting to slide. I see a guy slowing down so he would stay in bounds, he get the first down, and then he goes down. I’d get it if there was a defender anywhere near him, but with nobody close, he clearly wasn’t going to try to go down behind the line to gain.

Penix with two picks and struggling against 1-5 ASU.

Marv has to be Heisman front runner come tomorrow

Saw some folks talking MHJ as the Heisman front runner but I don't think that's the case. I don't like it any more than you, but fucking McCarthy is ahead of MHJ. Heisman voters aren't exactly nuanced. It used to be RB + good team = Heisman. These days it's QB + good team = Heisman.

Heisman WRs are hard to come by with those voters.

No surprise here.
