Week 8 Game Discussion Thread

[Jaxbuck]

It’s kind of the same effect though. Hard to keep a group together long enough to mesh well and really be good.

The dynasty all time kind of teams might be gone but that has as much to do with NIl as anything and again, the NFL did the same thing so I don’t t really see a parallel with CBB except for a tournament at the end.

It’s turning into college basketball …

I agree and nobody gives a shite about college basketball anymore. These arses are killing college football and these kids.

[Onebuckfan]

You wouldn’t be able to afford some of the teams from 68 to 02.

I used to take days off of work for March madness, now I barely watch.

The NFL would have to allow 1 and done or HS straight to NFL for that to happen.

They should waive that rule of making kids go to college first. If they're good enough to get drafted they shouldn't be forced to slave away for the corrupt NCAA.

Same here. Half days on the first Thursday and Friday at a minimum.

I'm on the west coast, they start early here. When I was in the Aleutians out near Russia they started at 6am.

Aleutians? My dad was a coast artillery spotter on Adak and Attu. Most conversation included the word “miserable.”

Yes, top QB Underwood would have been thriving these past too seasons in the NFL, it's too bad he's been held back by being forced to go to college.

High school kids aren't remotely ready for the NFL.

Most of them - some exceptions - aren't ready for college football either.

I worked on Shemya after the air force left. It was still an important refueling point midway between Anchorage and japan and raytheon and the navy had sites there too. I had had a few stops at Adak but never made it out to Attu, could see it though. It had big snow covered mountains on it.

Bye weeks suck... that is all

[Woody1968]

Our D was way worse then it is now. And we missed the game winning fieldgoal and Sayin looked like the did the Indiana game the whole second half

We would have won the game if we would have kicked the FG in the first half, instead of going for it on 4th. Our Defense wasn't bad, per se, I think the Offense did them no favors by doing absolutely nothing in the 3rd quarter, and leaving the D on the field in that late summer Texas heat.
