No way they were making FG from back there, though. So against Stanford you take the penalty and they get 0 points.
Unless your star protege does a needless penalty.

Oh I'm not criticizing him. He's doing something i haven't seen in a long long time, at a higher level, and in roles where both sides of the field are depending on him to be the man.
It's a failure on coaching staff imo to not limit his exposure. It seems like they have more options at WR than DB, and he could be used more situationally.
