Correction, after reviewing the broadcast feed CBS announcers believe the officials failed to signal first down on a previous play, so Bama, thinking they had 3rd and short ran a QB sneak. Then the official notices the chain gang hadn’t moved and motioned them forward on 2nd down.
So yeah… Bama actually ran a QB goal line dive/sneak on 1st down from the 9 yard line… which is even funnier.
