Week 3 Games Discussion

Klatts done an excellent job on PbP since Gus abruptly left the broadcast due to illness. Brady Quinn has run upstairs to the booth as an emergency analyst.

Gus Johnson expected back in Week 4 after leaving Oklahoma-Nebraska broadcast with illness

College football broadcaster Gus Johnson is expected to be back in the broadcast booth in Week 4 after leaving with an undisclosed medical condition at halftime Saturday during the contest between Nebraska and No. 6 Oklahoma, according to fellow broadcaster and former Colorado quarterback Joel Klatt. The color analyst, in a tweet, wrote "Gus is doing well and already looking forward to next week" after Johnson was absent for the second half between the Sooners and Huskers.

Klatt announced early in the third quarter that Johnson fell ill and would not call the remainder of the game. Brady Quinn — already on site at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, for the network's Big Noon Kickoff pregame show — came to the booth to provide Klatt with a color commentator after Johnson exited. Urban Meyer, the former three-time national championship college football coach who returned to FOX's team this season, also joined the broadcast later in the second half.

"If you're just joining us, folks, Gus is doing well — he's just very much under the weather," Klatt said. "He's going to step away here in the second half. I'll be taking you the rest of the way with Brady, Jenny (Taft) on the sidelines. Coach (Urban) Meyer will join us at some point and we'll continue this conversation about this great rivalry and these two moving forward here on Big Noon Saturday."
