not to step into the Keinholz debate but more based on your comment about Day... Is that his limitation as an offensive guy, his stubbornness insisting on pin point passers, or it doesn't matter because he can get the QBs with the passing skills he wants....

its an interesting question to me at least...

Just to play devil's advocate

Is it a fantasy of the fanbase that with guys like Troy Smith, JT Barrett, Justin Fields, etc, that they automatically want a QB who can run for 50+ yards a game no matter the passing skill or grasp of the offense?

Because if you think about when that decision was made, Sayin was ahead of Keinholz. He still is as a pure QB. Keinholz excels past Sayin in the scramble around and make a play game, which is exciting, but shouldn't EVER be the plan.

I think Day is just so used to and geared toward QBs with better passing skills. Asking him to completely shift away from that and develop an offense around a very limited passer is asking a lot I think.

So a combo of stubbornness and insisting on more skilled passers.
