Have you watched any of this game?
I'd take Youngstown state today. But out of the season I'd still probably take Standford 8 of 10.
Stanford looks worse against them then Nevada and San Jose state. It might be a week to week thing but they are trash today
Today they would. Any other day I doubt it. But the defensive effort or lack there of from Stanford today is pathetic.Stanford scored 37 points in a win at Hawaii last week. USC is very good, and more efficient than OSU at this point (it's not even close).
If you need to tell yourself Youngstown State would beat Stanford in order to rationalize it then knock yourself out. I'm not buying it.

Now one could argue they are discouraged cause it's USC and they wouldn't have quit like that against someone else. That's an argument I'll buy. It doesn't look good when your team quits like that
Now that I can agree with.None of which has anything to do with what I said in the first place. USC ran 26 plays and scored 21 points in the first quarter. We've got guys going on about the clock rules, as if that's a problem exclusive to Ohio State. It's not, it's a rationalization.
If Youngstown State has the ball 8 more minutes than you, and you only have 3 second half possessions, that ain't a clock problem. That's an efficiency problem, offensively and defensively. The whole point of my initial USC post was to point that out.

We should have had 35 points in the first half. 2nd half we got into the idle we sometimes get into. The difference with rules is idling 3-5 possessions is far more likely to kill you then before the rules. Which is still an efficiency problem but is also effected by the rules
Yep and it benefits the efficiency monster O's that just go 2 to 3 plays for 10 yards disproportionately. Cause their 5-7 min drives before is going to be the whole damn quarter of keep away nowThe biggest thing I'm seeing with the clock rules is that 3rd down is more important than ever.
The clock keeps ticking either way. Better that the ball be in your hands than theirs.

Yep it benefits the teams playing old school offenses.Exactly. Which is why YSU converting 3rd down at a higher rate than OSU became a problem. It had nothing to do with the clock rules.
Third down conversions were always important, but they can be game changers now. If you own them, you're going to be hard to beat.
