Week 15 CFB Open Thread

How the fuck was that not targeting. “Intent doesn’t matter” is what we were told about the Wade play.....lmao

Well, they also told us the fumble was an incomplete pass so...

Wait wait wait...so now you need to 'attack' to get targeting? What does that even mean?

What an absurd rule. It can be reviewed and called nearly every play and there is always some type of nonsense interpretation involved with the call.
It doesn't matter how they call it. The officials can arbitrarily rule the exact same hit two different ways and most lazy announcers will explain why that was the correct call. If they'd ruled it the other way, they'd explain why that was the correct call. Some lazy announcers will go so far as to tell you, "They'll call that every time."

You might as well not have the targeting rule of it can’t be applied correctly.

Picking a guy off the pile with a flying headbutt should be the text book definition of targeting.
Yeah I thought the same... they said "well the intent wasnt there"

What does that even mean??? No one more than likely intends to hit helmet on helmet but they did so you have to call it.

Also this Johnson kid for LSU reminds me of Burrow a ton. How has he not been playing? Runs well and really throws good timing routes over the middle. He's only a true freshman? Give him a few years and no reason he can't be the real deal.
