I lead, you follow.
I completely understand that POV, but boy that says a lot about how far the sport has fallen where we consider winning your conference an unnecessary risk. I would kill to see us win the B1G again
Sadly it's the reality of things. And it will be especially so in years where teams are top heavy.
Then you have years where a conference may be top heavy, like 2007 for example. Then you run into more questions.
- What would be the point of playing starters in The Game when you have a multi game lead in your conference?
- What if tOSU has a down year, can't reach the conference title -OR- the playoffs? Why would the juniors and seniors play in The Game at that point?
A lot has changed in a short amount of time. The argument, first and primarily fueled by the SEC, was that winning their championship game should vault them ahead in standings. That began to fall apart when teams starting arguing that they shouldn't be punished for losing them. A hilarious turn of events.
