That said, our guys are resting and getting healthy while Georgia lost their quarterback and a great punter in what really amounts to a meaningless game. If what the committee says about not punishing the teams in these games is true. It becomes an instance where a bye really isn’t a bye. It’s just a game three weeks earlier.

One of the reasons I’m against the playoff. All the extra games and more chances for players to get hurt. How much will injuries factor into who wins it all? With the BCS, players got to take their exams, send the holiday with their families, then play one more game for dear old State U. A lot of those players were going to head off to the pros and didn’t need more chances for season- or career-ending injury.
