Week 12 Games Discussion

Just turned to the Ducks/Utes game. ESPiN was doing a promo for their halftime show. They mentioned #5 goes down, and 3 of the other top 5 "escaped" with wins. So a 13 point win by #2 is an "escape", but a 10 point win by #1 is a convincing win. Time to turn off ESPiN.
S-E-C!!!

To be fair, our score looks a lot better than what happened. That last minute scoop and score was a fluke. I legit think it was a close call.

On the other hand, it shows Georgia really doesn't play well on the road. But, they handily kept their opponent from scoring a TD.

Doesn't sound unreasonable

GA isn’t a juggernaut despite what ESPN is selling. Tennessee and Bama are both mediocre this season, that’s the real takeaway. GA’s best win is still Oregon. Sneaking by UK/Missouri and allowing 22 by Kent State shouldn’t scare anyone. Taulia would have torched all three of those teams last night, for what it’s worth.

I couldn't agree more, there's not a single team this year without flaws/question marks. Georgia is no exception.

Bad beat: Stanford kicks meaningless 61-yard field goal as time expires vs. Cal to flip the total

466861c0-687d-11ed-acff-d93bac5a5c3f

Stanford Kicker Joshua Karty's 61-yard field goal as time expired didn't affect the outcome of the game against Cal, but it mattered to some bettors.

Anyone with a ticket on over 46.5 total points in Cal’s win over Stanford on Saturday got a miracle win.

Stanford had the ball and trailed 27-17 in the final seconds. With two-possession deficit impossible to overcome, Stanford coach David Shaw sent out kicker Josh Karty for a 61-yard field goal attempt to try to make the score more respectable.

Karty drilled the career-long field goal to cut the final margin to seven. And made those with the over incredibly happy as the point total ended up at 47.

We don’t need to tell you that Karty’s kick is a brutal beat for under bettors. Heck, it’s probably a worse beat than if Stanford had completed a Hail Mary TD pass with no time remaining. We’re used to crazy TDs to affect the total at the end of games. But field goals that don’t matter to the outcome of the game? Those are exceptionally rare.

South Carolina thrashes No. 5 Tennessee 63-38 to end Vols' playoff hopes

And when we say that Tennessee couldn’t stop South Carolina, we mean that very literally. Outside of a one-play drive to end the first half, South Carolina (7-4) scored touchdowns on eight of its first nine possessions. The Gamecocks scored on their first five possessions of the night and didn’t punt until the third quarter thanks to a fantastic performance by QB Spencer Rattler.

That form had eluded him until Saturday night. After throwing eight touchdowns and nine interceptions through South Carolina’s first 10 games of the season, Rattler threw six touchdowns and no interceptions as South Carolina scored the most points ever by a ranked team against a team in the top five of the AP poll.

Just goes to show, it's anyone's ballgame on any given day, so much parity. The BCS playoff should be the 4 teams left unscathed, so far Georgia Ohio State TCU and the best one loss team. Won't be scUM, they're gonna get REKT next weekend. As precariously as USC has won their games still, their only loss was by one point, on the road to a top 20 team. We'll see how the fare next week to Notre Dame, if they lose then Clemson may get the 4th spot.
