Week 0 Games Discussion

wanna know how I know USC is dead in the water?

Curtis is starting on defense for USC whereas he wouldn’t have made the 3 deep here.

Grinch is a mastermind.

I see fuck faces defense is in full bloom… he’s the primary reason I hesitate with Zach Smith.

Zach thinks Grinch is a good coach and wow does everything say otherwise.

His defenses are terrible and here we go again predictably.

Btw I can’t stand Grinch. IMO he’s to blame for who set us back 3 years.

This is far more discrediting than dildos.
I think any school who plays their fight song after every positive play should be banned.

That means USC and Tennessee off the top of my head.

Can we add lion noises, or does it have to be the full fight song?

I’m convinced that you could take the winner of a madden tournament and it’d be better than 70% of coaches.

Having played in a few madden tourneys, I regret to inform you that 90% of those guys have never played a moment of a team sport. That includes pick-up games of basketball.

35 to 21 USC… not over yet

Damn USC is just awful on defense. Seriously any QB that’s mobile and they have no clue how to handle it.

SC defense is going to cost them just like last season.

I tried to watch some of Ohio and SDSU.

Tuned in and it was in a long stretch of commercials. I waited that out, Ohio was kicking off...and it went straight back to commercials just like Fox does with the NFL. I found something else to do and that was it for CFB for me for the weekend.

That is how it started with the NFL (for me) a few years back too. Between the commercials, the nonsensical hype, the constant sound barrage of shallow analysis and cliches from the hair dryer blown howler monkeys they put on air I just can't stand it anymore.

And that’s how little I think of some of these coaches. There’s a deference to these coaches like they’re on a different level from a knowledge stand point but they’re just people.

It’d be an interesting study if I’m being honest. Take the best madden players and give them play designs like the game does to pick from and see how they do.

IMO it’s really not that much different. Sure there’s more that goes into it but again it blows my mind that Navy can’t take advantage of a team on play action. Shoot they almost hit a big play down the field on their 4th down attempt (but the ball was dropped).

Also yeah USC is getting curb stomped vs Washington if you ask me. That game plus Oregon and Utah.

They’re a 3 loss team at a minimum

1st Q Idiot announcer keeps saying THE Ohio University.
Then, the Bobcats reveal themselves as not a very sound team at all.
More commercials.

Buddy, I'm not sure how much further we can go in this conversation if you think play design and execution in Madden is easily replicated and done on a real field like it is in a video game.

I get your sentiment, I really do. But you're wildly off the mark. And the "more that goes into it" part really underscores that.

It was a relatively boring game but indicative of the price the viewer is going to pay for these huge TV contracts.

Watched most of the USC game. They're explosive, but relied on a lot of broken plays, which was surprising with Williams back and their skill depth. He takes unnecessary risks and looks for the knockout, but it'll be there with their speed. If they play a patient defense there will be a lot of 3 and outs.

On defense it's the same Grinch. More talent, but full sending it too often. Will keep a lot of teams in the game. Their DL was sprinting up the field against a mobile QB. SJSU should've just run draws until they stopped it.
