BB73, that was funny as hell, green chiclets from me assuming they're still worth something by the time i'm done typing
Do you deny feeling superior to people who would allow themselves to be fooled by religion?
that is a very presumptous statement, and fooled is a pretty strong term...........so i will "ATTEMPT" to explain myself just a bit in a less encrypted manner, but i'll keep it short so there will still be some holes for anyone who wants to put more words in my mouth............a much better word would be fortunate, not superior........i don't feel superior to, or look down upon anybody who chooses a particular path toward happiness and/or salvation, Nirvana, how ever you would like to phrase it..........what strikes a nerve with me is those that view their chosen path (namely Christians of course) as the "only" way, and go around professing such, consequently disrespecting other belief systems/pathways, and ignoring thousands of years worth of history based on a single doctrine, and in the vast majority of cases the only one they've been exposed to, atleast with an open mind...........but unlike many who take the same sort of stance as me, i try to exercise compassion/tolerance/understanding instead of pure contempt
as far as my original post, keeping in mind what i just wrote, it was my way of saying "so are you suggesting that through Christ is the only way to achieve marital happiness and success?", by stating that i've achieved it without Christ and putting a sarcastic spin on it
Maybe he can change his moniker to "MartyrBuck."
and just because i feel like it, and it's a chance to, i will post some lyrics (condensed) to my favorite TooL song: "Eulogy", interpret as you please:
He had alot to say.
He had alot of nothing to say.
We'll miss him.
You told us how you weren't afraid to die.
Well then, so long.
Not all martyrs see divinity.
But at least you tried.

Standing above the crowd,
He had a voice that was strong and loud.
We'll miss him.
Ranting and pointing his finger
At everything but his heart.
We'll miss him.

Standing above the crowd,
He had a voice so strong and loud and I
Swallowed his facade cuz I'm so
Eager to identify with
Someone above the ground,
Someone who seemed to feel the same,
Someone prepared to lead the way, with
Someone who would die for me.

Will you? Will you now?
Would you die for me?
Don't you fuckin lie.

You've claimed all this time that you would die for me.
Why then are you so surprised to hear your own eulogy?
Come down.
Get off your fuckin cross.
We need the fuckin space to nail the next fool martyr.
To ascend you must die.
You must be crucified
For your sins and your lies. [sic]
Goodbye...

See, I had to look it up to make sure I knew what I thought Mistri meant for it to mean... I'm not that smart sometimes.
AKAK, there you are!! i was wondering when you'd jump in and take a stab at me, you didn't disappoint, well done, and i agree about the trenchant part
5. Grad tells Mistri that Tibor already dominates that area of the fishing pond.
to clarify, does he dominate the "devil's advocate" towards religion area?? or was he referencing the fact that he already hijacked and stirred up this thread? that was my initial impression
I can't let MistriBuck get the last word in
