Web Host recommendations

Researching the Magic!
I'm working on a portfolio website for my photography and was wondering if anyone has recommendations on web hosts? I don't think I'll need a giant amount of bandwidth or storage space, despite hosting a fair amount of hi-res images, and I'm on a pretty tight budget (i.e. trying to keep it under $100 for a year). Of course I've looked at the typical solutions like DreamHost, HostGator, etc. but was looking for any firsthand experience I can get on interface, uptime, etc. I'd also be running a blog (likely WordPress) on it, but that's not a big deal as most have easy support for that right "out of the box."

Thanks for any advice!
