WC semis - Netherlands vs Uruguay (Tues 2 ET, ESPN)

Another blown offside call in the 89th minute - it went against Uruguay, who had a guy coming in for a header on the six but the whistle blew before he made contact.

Robben had a chance to cross the ball to Van Persie for a sitter, but he took a shot himself - the selfish vPrick!

Your intolerance for the Dutch can apparently be bought off with vcash.

I rarely watch soccer, kind of found interest in the World Cup this year though. But to me, Forlan looked like the best player in the tournament up to this point. Are my noob soccer eyes deceiving me or is that true?

He and Villa from Spain have probably been the 2 best consistently I would think.

I don't understand the backlash to that play. Every single player/coach in the ESPN studio said "I absolutely would have done the same thing" that's why he was sent off and given the penalty

He cheated. Outside the fantasy world of ESPiN sportscasting, people were appalled.

There used to be something called honor and pride in sports. Uruguay, with their constant simulating, do not understand what that means and they didn't deserve to have been in a semi-final.

I don't know if I would call it cheating. You don't call an intential foul to prevent a basket in basketball cheating. You don't call (intential) holding/pass interferance to prevent a touchdown in football cheating. You call them smart plays. i.e. You make the play that is in your best interest and take the penality (if it is called).

Now something like using a corked bat in baseball, that's what I would call cheating. :)
