Watching Universe Could Hasten its Demise

I hope this doesn't send the thread into the political forum, but this hits on an interesting question I have been considering as of late. I am currently reading a very good book by Alister McGrath called Christianity's Dangerous Idea: The Protestant Revolution. One of his major theses is that the most radical idea of Protestant reformers was that scriptural interpretation should be democratized, that is to say, everyone should have the opportunity to interpret scripture, not just a few elite scholars within the church.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to get a pot of water out to the dark matter... that would solve everything.

Although I am skeptical about your "solving everything" theory, I have a solution. I bet a really big sling-shot or catapult could get chunks of ice out there. But that might take a long time. And I'd guess that you'd have a tough time getting the ice out of the atmosphere before the air friction causes the ice to explode. So maybe you should do this from the space station. And even so, the ice wouldn't be going very fast. So maybe you should use a catapult to launch another catapult, and that second catapult launches the ice.

You're on your own if you want the water back after it gets to the dark matter.

Hopefully, you can start some kind of interstellar snow-ball fight, and they can throw the iceball back when it's done "solving everything."
