The problem is, the evidence is mixed on what happens to guys after that surgery. Sure, not pitching at all will prevent injury now but there's nothing to prove whether it will do anything to protect him long-term. I hope for his sake he didn't sit out the one shot in the playoffs he'll get his entire career.

I found it particularly funny when Tommy John came out and said it was ridiculous.
