I am not one to come here and air much about my personal life. Over the hears that I have been here I have gotten to know some great people on this sight and although I may not agree with everyone all the time, one thing for sure is I think most people here and good people, I mean after all we are almost all Buckeyes.
All that being said, to the point of this post. At the beginning of the year I was diagnosed with type II Diabetes. When I was first diagnosed I was shocked, as really was my doctor. I have no family history, and while not in great shape I am not obese either. Mt Doctor to his credit is one of the best in Columbus, and immediately I was in to see a specialist, and enrolled in classes on how to manage the disease. Truth is I am still adjusting to the changes that I have had to make in my life. If I had a bad day I just chalked to up to I was still learning what to do, and with time I would get better. A few weeks ago when Jack Tatum died it probably effected me more than some other people, in that here is a world class athlete who died from complications from the very disease that I have. Reading other peoples stories in the thread here reminded me that I can't sit back and just wait, instead I need to be more proactive in not only my health but in aiding in raising money to fight this disease.
So on October 30th I am going to participate in my first Walk to fight Diabetes. If anyone would like to donate to my cause I have added the link below, thank for taking time to read the post and reading the link.
