I was taken to it automatically too.

BUT, I did hear that would only happen on the original machine you signed up for (security measure). So if this was your 2nd PS3 (or you signed up for your PSN account from a different machine), then it might be a different procedure.

Remember the recent PlayStation Network outage? You know the one, right? It started in late-April and lasted up through this weekend's phased restoration (and continues on for many un-phased users). Well, Sony would like to sincerely apologize for the whole thing the best way it knows how: free video games. The company today announced its "Welcome Back" program, which is letting all existing PSN and Qriocity users in North America pick two of the following games: Dead Nation, inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, and Wipeout HD + Fury. PSP users, meanwhile, can chose two from LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force, and Kill Liberation. You can claim the games at some point in the next 30 days, and once you've downloaded, they're yours to keep. The gesture may well prove too little, too late for many disgruntled users -- but even they'll likely have trouble staying angry at Sackboy's adorable little dirt-stained mug.

Thats what was said, but I reset my password on my 3rd PS3. So, yeah.

Everyone. Basically, they are attempting to get people to "come back" to Sony services. Also, Zipper is working on something for all the SOCOM players that haven't had any access. I'm hoping for some sweet DLC. (Source: Playstation Blog)

inFamous just finished downloading. Took overnight.

Update: Sony support staff on the PlayStation Blog offer the following advice if you're having problems, as I did:
Select 'Welcome Back Free PS3 Game 1′ and click on 'Get Now'
Press circle to go back and select your first free game
Return to the Welcome Back page and select 'Welcome Back Free PS3 Game 2′ and click on 'Get Now'
Press circle to go back and select your second free game
Go to the XMB(tm) to play your free games
Make sure to complete the download of each title all the way otherwise you'll have to go into account management>transaction management>services list>SCEA Promotions to download the games

At first, LBP disappeared and the 2nd free game showed as redeemed. So I went under the Account Management and was able to start the download again. It's in the process now.
