Wake Forest coach donates kidney to one of his players

Pretty awesome story. The Wake coach offered this kid a scholarship, afterwords the kid gets diagnosed with a rare disease and needs a transplant. Meanwhile, despite dropping 30 lbs and being in dialysis for 18 hours a day, the young man gets to Wake Forest for school. The coach finds out he's a match for as a donor and undergoes surgery. Hopefully it all works out!

when i 1st heard about it, i cracked a similar joke.

but after thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA decided this was some sort of violation.

the coach is a better human being than i am.
the kid hasn't ever played a game for them yet, and depending on his recovery, he may never get to play one for the school.

to step up like that for a kid takes a lot more courage than i could muster.

i emailed our SID asking if we were gonna do something to honor him.
didn't give me specifics, but he did say they're thinking about it.
