Visting Columbus - Suggestions?

If the decision goes up between the zoo and Cosi, do Cosi.

Sure no zoos are alike. But you can see pretty much the same animals there as your zoo where you live. Plus the zoo in March can be rather cold. Hell there could be snow on the ground.

Cosi is all indoors, except for the park thing they have outside. Its all science of course, but the stuff there is so cool you don't even know your learning science. They have special exhibits all the time there. So you might want to check their site out to see what they have going on.

My Family Really Liked the "Buckeye Hall Of fame Cafe"

I started to tear Up when I saw one of Archies Heismans
Go to the WHAC. Don't tell anyone I told you so, but there you can see both of them.

Anyway, the wife and I are both Michigan State Alumni.

Columbus and East Lansing are nothing alike. East Lansing has always struck me as being built around the campus and most things are in walking distance. Columbus is Ohio's largest city and the zoo and COSI are not near campus. Just in case you were hoping to wander around campus and hit the zoo and COSI you will need a car.

Have fun, explore town and remember we all hate michigan!

If you are looking for some Buckeye gear hit up the Barnes and Noble/ Long's Bookstore on High Street. It's brand new and really nice.

High Street is the main drag through campus and it runs North to South through Columbus.

Campus is just West of High Street.

Thank you for all the suggestions!

Can one get into the horseshoe on a Saturday (in March that is)? That *would* be pretty cool to see (though not as good as a on a football Saturday).

You can get tours of the shoe. But I think(from what I've heard) that you have to have a group of 10 or more people. Which doesn't sound like you will have.

Now that you've heard all of the great things...

Avoid the Miller/Kelton Area
The bums on High street will go home in their BMW's when you aren't looking.
Going to the zoo inevitably means entering Perry Township. Its a speed trap and they don't hear excuses at all.
There are places where wearing Maize and Blue is hazardous to your health. Don't mention 1998 if you're an MSU fan.

I should also add. If you go to the Franklin Park Conservetory(sp?), be carefull around the area. Especially Ohio Ave.

As a matter of fact, it would be best to just stay away from that area.

The Columbus Zoo has some very unique critters that most zoos don't have-duckbill platypus, wolverine, black and white tapir, special amphibian house, kick ass reptile house-most zoos don't have king cobras. I would put the Columbus Zoo against any zoo in the country as far as variety of animals, it is now better than the Cincinnati Zoo

I didn't mean to say all zoos are alike. But if you have to choose between the zoo and cosi. I would go to cosi. Just because not every city has one.

You also have to think of trying to go to the zoo in March, where there could be a foot of snow for all we know. Columbus is known for March snowstorms.

If you're a fan of high school athletics, check out the swim team at Columbus Beechcroft High School.

They're not only one of the best in the area, they're one of the best in the state.

I wish. We're going to get our asses smoked today at the City Championships.

But now that you brung up HS sports. If you interested in HS Basketball. There is some tournament games at the Fairgrounds, the weekend your going to be in town
