Pretty cool interview with Bill Rasmussen. To bad the talking heads at ESPN aren't as real as he is.

"Bill Rasmussen is truly the George Washington of ESPN. His accomplishments, however, transcend the boundaries of the sports arena into areas beyond our wildest dreams." Chris Berman, 1993

Dear Bill:

Thanks for ESPiN and your wonderful contributions. Who needed sports journalism when we could have "sports entertainment". I don't know how I lived without endless broadcasts of poker and Mickey Mouse sports.

You must take a lot of pride in counting your bank balances and considering your impact. How did you ever get so clever as to leverage your competitive position in the international market to push out the good games in favor of contests between football minnows nobody wants to see?

You might be interested to know about your contributions to comedy. That formula of yours is a gift that keeps on giving. I find it particularly funny when Brits try to take on the Mark May role or the Lou Holtzsh role in their soccer broadcasts. Really, the guy trying to be a Corso is just too much.

Thanks for all your weighty contributions. And just ignore the bulk of the population who wish you had decided to eat horse manure instead of founding ESPiN. You rock!

Love and kisses,
Ohio State fans

PS: I don't have to watch this 20 minute egofest to know that you rock!
