Geez, those odds on USC are ridiculous. But probably accurate. I don't think I've ever seen preseason odds like that before.
funny how things change with no real info to base it on...
I bet it was a bunch of you Buckeye fans laying cash on the 12-1. I would have been tempted by that as well. Decent value there.
And it's been discussed before I'm sure, but I'd jump all over these if I were more of a betting man:
Purdue 200:1 No Michigan or tOSU. That is the weirdest conference scheduling quirk I have ever seen. And Iowa is a home game. They'll probably end up 8-3 like they always do, but 200:1 with that schedule and 20 returning starters? Very good value.
Louisville 50:1 Who do they play? West Virginia? If they don't go at least 10-1 with that pansy ass schedule it'll be underachieving.
Okay, I can't go to sleep, so I worked out the odds by conference. Because odds like 300:82 (the exact odds for the Big 10) don't make much sense, I rounded a bit.
Pac 10- 5:4 Not surprising given USC's odds
Big 12- 4:1
SEC- 4:1
ACC- 4:1
Big 10- 15:4 or somewhere between 3:1 and 4:1
Big East- 33:1
Bit of a disparity there with the Big East.
This way, it's also easy to see Vegas will get double the sum of the total bets if they are evenly distributed.
