I'm confused why this confuses you. This is how america treats any team that is dominant. The yankees have an outstanding ballclub every year, which is precisely why they are hated. Obviously there are other factors, such as the lack of parity in baseball, but if the yankees did not win as often they would not be hated that much.

I understand how we all get annoyed with the hype they get, I mean the tv coverage is rediculous. Dickie V is annoying as well with his love for them.

The difference I see is that K is recruiting the good players to come while the Yankees or other pro teams are buying their players.

I see it like this: If you want to hate the Yankees because they buy their players, fine by me. You can't hate Duke for recruiting great players, just hate them for their national recognition and everyone's love for the team....kind of like the Dave Matthews band and high school girls.

I don't hate them for recruiting great players. My hatred comes from the fact that there are three television stations covering their game, including a channel devoted solely to the fans (probably the stupidest idea in a long time). When the gameday highlight video is dominanted by about 60-70% duke-unc highlights, it gets a little overwhelming.

Man I get chills before this game. I grew up on Tobacco Road and this is what its all about in North Carolina. The whole state stands still and revolves around this game. Easily best rivalry in college basketball.

Tonight proves again why this is college basketball's version of THE GAME. Great rivalry, great atmosphere, hype, and a lot of pride at stake. These games are one of the few outside of tOSU that I will absolutely go out of my way to watch.
