The only 50+ point games under Tressel were Kent State (51-17) and San Jose State (50-7) in 2002. In the Kent State game, we were up 38-14 at half, but two of our TDs came on INTs (Doss and--who else--Hawk), so Tressel kept the first team until the fourth. In the SJSU game, we were up only 10-7 early in the second quarter, so Tressel didn't pull the first team until we went up 41-7 in the third.

But we could still make "Damn Near" cases for: Texas Tech(2002), Indiana (2002), NC St.(2003), lol.

As far as recent precedent goes, Tressel definitely called the dogs off against Miami, but...Miami left their first team in, trying to grab any points they could. Probably because it's an in-state thing, and they wanted the score to look less embarrassing. Craft has a long season ahead of him -- if he sees our second and third team coming in, he may just decide to protect his starters (Hamilton lost all of last year to injury) and/or give his backups some work.

We'll see. :)
