This is very bad news for OSU. A docile ND program takes players from Ohio. A resurgent program will be a real threat.

Granted, it is only one game. And Ty had a great first season. But they do look good.

Just wondering, where do you guys think Brady Quinn would be on our depth chart if he went to OSU?

Gotta pull for scUM to nail the Domers, or else the media will jump in with an endless barf-fest about 'waking up the echoes' under Weis.

Or scUM-lite, they play them after they play scUM.

How long is the ND-Pitt halftime? The USC and Texas games are pretty unwatchable, and I need a second game to watch alongside Auburn-GaTech.

Normally they come out Sunday, a little before noon. Al least last year's ESPN/Coaches poll did.

But with the Miami-Florida St game on Monday night (Labor Day), they may wait until Tuesday morning to release it this week. Our in-house poll is waiting until Tuesday for that reason this week.

I would hold off on proclaiming Notre Dame is 'back' just yet. Charlie Weis did, after all, out gameplan Dave Wanndstedt, which simply means Weis is as good as any other coach at either the college or pro level.

I have not ever understood the Pitt fans and alums' infatuation with the hiring of Wanndstedt. The guy hasn't met an NFL franchise that he single-handedly couldn't set back five years (Bears, Dolphins). So what does he do when he arrives at Pitt? Makes the worst coaching debut of any Pitt head coach in 30 years.

After the game, Wanndstedt apparently read the same post game comments he has been carrying on an index card in his pocket for the last 10 years he has been coaching ...

"We must have miscalculated them, and that's my responsibility."

"We hit adversity, and we did not deal with adversity the way championship teams deal with adversity. We didn't handle it well."

"I didn't do a good enough job of getting the guys prepared."

"I must not have done a good enough job of preventing our guys from reading newspapers and magazines and thinking we were a little further along or a better football team than we are today."

Here's hoping Solich's Bobcats thump 'em at Peden this Friday.

Amazing..Dave kept his notes from his Bear Days. Wannstedt is not a head coach, my condolences Pitt fans.

Props to you, even if you picked OU to start 0-3 in another thread:

"I think Solich has his work cut out for him. This team will start 0-3, probably 1-4 into conference play. At least they'll beat Buffalo ... but this non-conference schedule for a traditional MAC doormat is tough."

:tongue2:

Busted!

I know. I expected depth to be an issue, and I didn't think OU could stop Palko-to-Lee. I hadn't thought about Wanny doing that for them when I wrote that. :p
