vBook: Michigan vs Iowa

scUM is an OT win and 1 second away from being 2-5. I would have liked to have witnessed the meltdown this week if that had happened.

Scum sucks against mobile QB's 101 on Iowa.
Our defense is much improved this year. We did better against MSU away than you guys did at home, and OSU quite possibly has the best defense in the country. We beat the two mobile quarterbacks we faced this year!

That's not to say I have much confidence against Tate at Kinnick, especially with Barringer and Englemon hurt. Iowa has some injuries at DB and WR; that's why the line is so close.

Oops, I meant non-MAC games.

Um, ok so you did 1-yd better against MSU...

You gave up 420 to PSU, to whom we gave up 195 in Happy Valley.
I did not mean to imply that our defense is better than yours; my only point is that our defense this year doesn't deserve the ridicule it got last year. No one has held the Irish all year to less than 30 points, except for us (17). The offense is the problem this year.

Iowa has a distinct advantage with home field, BUT Michigan still has Mike Hart and Chad Henne. We were able to take Greenway and Hodge out of the picture in a blowout this year, and I look for that big Michigan O-Line to do the same. If Michigans defense (yeah, its a laughable concept) can use stunts and blitz on Tate early in the game, they can get him frustrated, causing him to get out of a rythem and play into their weeknesses the same way we did. Michigan will win this one in close fashion.

Note: We want Michigan to beat Iowa, so Iowa can fall to 2 losses.

hmmm? Why is that again? They already ahve two losses overall, and lost to us, therefore we don't need them to lose any more games.

JW: Strictly speaking, I agree with you. If we're tied with the Hawkeyes at the end, we get the BCS nod, so who cares. Right?

I do however, have a 21-year-old itch to win an outright championship. It wouldn't hurt too much to share it with someone that you beat like a drum, but at the same time it would make the itch that much worse.
