“Yeah, I’m going to make an official visit there,” Cowan said. “I’m not sure when yet. It will be for a game. When I talked to Chase about it he said the Michigan game would be a good one to go to.”

Cowan plans to take all five official visits.

“I’ll visit Georgia, LSU, USC, Ohio State and Alabama,” Cowan said. “Once I committed to Alabama everybody pretty much backed off. But I’m talking to (recruiters) again now. I’ve been talking to Luke Fickell now. I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about Ohio State.”

LB VanDarius Cowan dismissed from team

“VanDarius has been dismissed from the team and is no longer a part of our football program due to a violation of team rules,” Coach Nick Saban said in the statement Monday morning. “Each of us has a responsibility to represent The University of Alabama in a first-class way, and failure to meet those standards can’t be tolerated. We wish VanDarius the very best in the future.”

When asked to compare Alabama’s recruiting class of 2017, currently ranked third nationally, with top-ranked Ohio State’s, four-star prospect VanDarius Cowan cut off the question before the Buckeyes were even officially raised. He knew the question that was coming, and he had an answer loaded when it arrived.

“I’m not even worried about Ohio State, so don’t even ask me any questions about Ohio State,” Cowan told SEC Country at The Opening. “That’s ranked off of all those stars and junk, but we’re talking about Alabama having goons and savages in this class. I’m talking about boys who want to play and give it their all. I’m telling you all of my boys that are committed are savages. We are straight dogs.”

Cowan is the creator of the unofficial motto for the Crimson Tide’s Class of 2017, “Savages wanna play with savages.” That’s mainly why he isn’t concerned with what the Buckeyes’ 2017 class looks like. He thinks there are more savages in Alabama’s class than Ohio State’s.
