Providenciales, Provo, Turks and Caicos Islands
Providenciales is the urban centre of the Turks & Caicos Islands. Familiarly known as "Provo," the island offers all the modern conveniences one could desire while remaining a superior vacation destination for one who wants an escape from stress and overpopulated cities. Provo has an 18 hole golf course, a casino, shopping centres, three marinas, a growing number of of bars and excellent restaurants. Provo is also a divers' and water lovers' paradise.
Beautiful beaches are scattered on all sides of Providenciales, the most spectacular of which is a 12 mile stretch located on Grace Bay, which is protected by a healthy barrier reef.

i watched a show last night about Provo and it looked amazing.

We made 2 trips to Provo. The first was the best for me as it was undiscovered then. You would walk along the beach and see schools
of large starfish in 3ft of water. When we went there 6 years later the starfish were nowhere to be seen and bigger hotels were being built.
Still, somewhat unknown.

I loved Aruba - but as one other poster said it sucked - so how the hell are you supposed to decide?? no idea.

my thoughts - we spent 10 days in Aruba and I loved it all. I would ONLY go back to this hotel as the experience was fantastic and I don't like all inclusives (love going out and eating the local cuisines)

A good litmus test for me is - I spent 10 days there and didn't want to come home, usually 10 days anywhere and I'm ready to sleep in my own bed.

Also had a great time scuba diving (resort courses were easy to learn) and would be happy to recommend the company I used.

BTW - no hurricane insurance needed - they are out of the hurricane zone. I think the weather there is always the same it seems - 85 degrees and trade winds blowing to keep you cool.

I just talked myself into going back..ha.

I already typed a better assembled more detailed post but didn't post for some reason so here is a quick version. I'm going to Italy sometime next summer. I was wondering which area would be better to visit. All choices cover the Italian mainland, Rome/Venice. But additions to that trip are a tour of Sicily, a trip over to Greece(Athens/Sparta/Petra), and there is another that is in the Croation area that takes you to some pretty nice caves.

If anyone has been to any of these places any recommendations or personal expiriences would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

My sister went recently(to Italy). Visited all the usual places. Food was outstanding even tho she was on a bus tour. Hotels were good enough.
She went during tourist season and many venues were very crowded. Hard to really enjoy. That's why when we travel we concentrate on one area. You can really take your time and explore those off the beaten places/restaurants. So, I say don't over reach and just check out southern Italy/Rome and Pompei
I have heard the Greek food isn't so great, but Turkey has much better food. Turkey might be cheaper than Greece also. And Turkey has great ruins/sights also.

Ever considered doing a cruise? When you look at cost per day... you'd be pretty surprised... and you'll get a variety of places... East Caribbean (Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Domenicans, etc)... West Caribbean (Keys, Cancun, Jamaica, Caymans)...

Italian cruise line Costa has some pretty new ships down there...
