Well it isn't the defensive coordinator they are looking at! :)Pimpinnati;1638636; said:I thought they wanted to continue to build the program in a positive direction. The text in bold seems to contradict that sentiment ...
jmorbitz;1638700; said:Eh. Striking a player in the face, after a first-half ST mistake is taking it too far. Not the same as sexual assault or harassment, but there has to be a line in the sand. Woody was released for striking an opposing player in a game, Leavitt struck a player, you just can't do that. Sticking a player in a room the size of a garage is not the same as striking a player, there has to be some discrepancy with these coaches. Things are not the same as 30 years ago. There is too much media, too many outlets, cameras; Leavitt was an extremely emotional coach, and I enjoyed seeing his fire on the sidelines, but he has to control himself.

Well let's say, there shouldn't be discrepancy with these coaches. Striking a player in the face will never be an accepted practice. There must be restraint, moderation, steadyness, and an undeviating and uniform understanding that that will never be accepted. ()
The players dad was right, you do that on the street and you go to jail. Leavitt should be relieved he only lost his job.

If, by the "next level," you mean a return to the Big Least basement, then the new coach will likely take USF to the "next level."BrianO;1638743; said:This is a shame.
Local radio honks around Tampa Bay periodically talk about the idea that perhaps USF needed a new coach to take the program to the next level. For those who thought Yes I guess they will find out.
