Use Ginn and Holms as decoys

...Now we saw what teams are starting to do now hold ginn up at the line of scrimmage and blitz to make sure we can't get anyone deep to holmes...

Teams aren't the ones holding Ginn up at the line...our staff did that shit at Purdue. Ginn will be of little use if we make him line up 3 yards behind the LOS and stand there waiting for pass that's nothing more than a lateral. Let him run free down field. Our OL should be able to provide 3 full seconds of protection, which should be enough for Smith to read through 3 receivers and then if needed run or throw the ball away. Ginn should be able to get around Jackson if Teddy line up about a yard off the LOS...that gives him enough room to maneuver around Jackson, especially on slants. Jackson is quick but Ginn will blow him away if/when he gets around him.

The problem is not that the line doesn't ever provide three seconds of protection. It's that Smith decides to run after 2 seconds.

By the way, what in the world is wrong with Brandan Joe. We need his blocking. We need his occasional blasts between the tackles and we need to catch a few passes in the flat.

I'd like to see the offense use an occasional swing pass to Pittman, who is extremely fast in the open field. Also, I can't help but notice that we always pass in the spread and always run in every other formation. I'd like to see the offense throw out of run formations and run out of pass formations just keep the defense honest. It is imperative that Smith doesn't key on any wide receivers and just mixes it up.

I'm not impressed with scUM's secondary. Somebody will step up and have a big game. I have a feeling it will be Holmes. The scUM game last year was where he made a name for himself. Holmes has been kind of quiet as of late. Remember...this game makes heros...certain players seem to play EXTREMELY BETTER in this game then they do in other games. Maybe Ginn will be one of those guys...but I know Holmes is. Hopefully Smith steps it up...this is what he wanted...this is his real chance to prove to everyone he is the future of Ohio State.

Hall as another step-up candidate. (And I was glad to hear Homes may indeed come back next year).
Yeah...I don't think Holmes is quite ready for the NFL. I think as a Sophomore he just doesn't have it yet to be a high enough draft pick to be worth it to leave.
