USB 2.0

Having all kinds of issues trying to get a USB 2.0 device to work. It's an internal USB 2.0 device, 2.0 cable, and the motherboard supports it.

USB is enabled in the BIOS, and the BIOS is updated.

The device gives the following error code, and the drivers are all up to date:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Windows 7 error.. the device is an ATI CableCard Tuner, which I can't find any support on - go figure.

Did you check to see if the device was compatible with windows 7?

When did the device last work and what have you changed since then?

From what you said above it sounds like an incompatible driver. Go here: Windows 7 Compatibility Center home Hopefully this has what your looking for.

All A/V devices need to be DirectX 9 compatible or newer. Many older DX7 devices do not work at all in Windows 7, or will be recognized and run with limited features.

It's made for Windows Vista and Windows 7 - so I don't think thats the issue. From everything I've read, it seems like a power issue and/or my USB not being 2.0 - but I've enabled everything.

Matter of fact, ATI released a firmware update for Win 7 and Win 7 had a Windows Update to make the computer "digital cable ready" a few weeks ago. The product works on others Win 7 machines, no problem. The diffrence between theirs and mine is - they have an external tuner:

I have the internal because I didn't want another box hanging around:

I guess it could be the drive/card itself - but I don't have another machine I can test it on to find out.

Was hoping someone on here has had similar issues with a USB 2.0 device - once I find a solution I'll let you guys know, fucking frustrating as hell.

Do you have the correct/latest USB subsystem drivers from your mobo vendor? Up to date on BIOS patches?

I updated the BIOS last night.. would that cover it or is there additonal patches I may need?

Been emailing the retailer where it was purchased all day - they are saying the card is bad, and they're sending me a new one. I hope it's hear in time for the Rose Bowl. God bless america.
