Gilman (2-0) has two quality wins, defeating then-No. 12 St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) and DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) in back-to-back weeks. Poly (Long Beach) tumbles 13 spots to No. 16 after losing to then-No. 17 Bellevue (Wash.).
Player of the week: Quarterback Dexter Taylor of No. 8 Warren Central (Indianapolis) rushed for five touchdowns and 200 yards on eight carries in a 76-12 victory vs. Terre Haute South. Taylor (5-10, 182 pounds) scored on runs of 50, 11, 2, 55 and 29 yards in the opening half. In five games, Taylor has rushed for 956 yards, averaging 20.8 yards per carry, with 13 TDs.
Game of the week: Friday, No. 8 Warren Central plays Carmel (Ind.) in the Pay Back Classic at Indianapolis' RCA Dome. Warren Central (5-0) is averaging nearly 60 points.
Milestones: Bob Schneider of Newport (Ky.) Central Catholic became Kentucky's winningest football coach in a 48-7 win against Holy Cross (Covington). Schneider is 293-167-2 in 40 seasons. ... Jim Ross of Southern Columbia (Catawissa, Pa.) picked up his 250th win in a 39-6 victory vs. Bloomsburg.
Extra points: RB Knowshon Moreno of Middletown (N.J.) South, No. 8 in the East Region, became New Jersey's all-time leader for career touchdowns, scoring four times in a 49-0 victory vs. Red Bank Regional (Little Silver). Moreno, who has 103 TDs, surpassed the mark of 101, set by Kevin Harvey of Paulsboro. Moreno also needs 29 points to break Harvey's state career record for points (656). ... No. 15 South Panola will play two games in four days next week, beginning at Moss Point on Sept. 27. Three days later it travels to Horn Lake. The revised schedule was a result of Hurricane Katrina. ... WR-DB Ryan Maxwell of Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) scored three times, while setting a school record and establishing a program first in a 27-21 win vs. Dorsey (Los Angeles). Maxwell became the school's first player to score via run (20 yards), receiving (60 yards) and punt return (school-record 88 yards) in the same game.

About the rankings: USA TODAY's Super 25 football rankings are compiled by Lawlor, who consults with a national network of high school sportswriters, analysts and coaches. Among the criteria considered are a school's strength of schedule, the quality of competition in its state or league and the quality of its players.
The rankings appear on Tuesdays throughout the fall.

This team is a machine. Head Coach Bobby Bentley has won 4 straight 4A titles and routinely scores 50+. They have over 500 kids in the program from 7-12 and the JV team has not given up a first down yet this season.

The program is a year round daily exercise and his QBs are like robots that can spew out formation analysis and reads in an instant. WRs and QBs run routes everyday all year.

The starting QB is a sophomore and is already committed to Clemson...the backup, a senior, is considered the best drop-back QB in the state and has good enough stats that he has been selected to play in the Shrine Bowl (SC/NC equivalent of the Big 33) even though he does not start on his own team.

They are sick...absolutely sick.
