USA crushed by Italy

in international basketball competition. The NBA superstars are down by 20 points to the Italian national team with 3 minutes left in the game.

Italy was more prepared. The US team thought Italy would be a push-over. They deserve it.

I thought Dream Team I was kind of cool, considering the guys who went, but I'm actually getting tired of the overpaid crybabies representing the USA. Gee, guess thunder dunking, repeated offensive fouls, and palming the ball and travelling every play doesn't work as well in the international arena. I wish they'd go back to sending college kids, though with the amount of youngsters heading to the NBA, we'd get killed for sure.

Although I hate to see the US lose anything, it gives one heart to know that all the individual talent in the world does not equate to team quality. That's why I never worry too much about "poor recruiting" classes...not that we've had that problem too often with JT.

The only sports we should lose to the Italians in is soccer and bocce ball.
