When Donovan was scoring I was typing up a post saying that Howard has three (now four) superb saves so far, but they need to find a way to take some of the heat off. Brazil has turned it up in the last fifteen minutes.
The second goal will compel them to go forward even more, the US are going to have to work hard on defense.
What I do like - and I'm not sure I've ever seen this before from a US squad at this level - they seem confident in thinking two to three steps ahead of the next touch. That's what I think has been the biggest thing separating them from the world's elite. So far it means that even though Brazil have had more chances, the US have had higher quality chances and have been able to find the back of the net and build a lead.
Hopefully they keep this up. It would be HUGE.
