Is Buffon in the goal for Italy or is it one of their reserves. And where is Luca Toni?

1-0 at half with a man down! Man if Altidore drilled that opportunity in the 28th minute we'd be set. Pack it in but don't get stagnant boys!

US has had about 2 other good scoring chances. Altidore and Bradley Jr. both misfired on shots from about 15 yards away. Very weak attempts.

Italy's probably had 2 as well. Either way it's 1-0.

Buffon is in goal. Luca Toni, I think had an injury bothering him a while back, but not sure. Everyone's been asking where he's been. Maybe he'd play if the Blue thought it was a bigger game? Might see him in the 2nd half now.

I'm so excited, but the 2nd half is going to be a lot of defending, down a man. Hopefully Landon can spring one on a counter. He's got great fitness late in the game and this is as good as he's looked in a while. He's actually attacking and getting involved (been known to disappear in big games).

Altidore is going to have to be the one who steps up, forces the action and keeps the Italians at least honest... sorry to be a Donovan hater (though I am) he really has disappeared in big games... my opinion, he's somewhat limited... I don't know that Italy will respect him anyway, so, if they don't hopefully he makes them pay, but, Altidore has some fear factor, even if it is just physically.

Complete BS on the red for Clark, there were harder tackles that didn't even get yellows. What about when one of the Italy defenders tried to undercut Altidore flip him over, that's a red - no intent on playing the ball.

It'd be nice to have Rossi on our team, he was born and raised in USA, but has dual citizenship with Italy. I guess that gets us back for having Adu.

We had two very good opportunities with Bornstein (I think) and Altidore, bot should have blasted their shots, they were within 15 ft from the keeper. Instead they both tried to cute it and Altidore even tried to pass through two guys. I'm sorry, you're that close, just unleash. Italy didn't have a hard time unleashing from 30 yards out.

All in all it was a very even match. Refs can effect the outcome more in soccer than any other sport, that was bs, everyone knew it.
