US Open at Pebble Beach

Not sure who is winning it but Johnson is damn sure losing it. His lead disappeared early with a triple on #2 and they're still looking for his tee shot on #3.

Johnson is +7 so far.
Woods is +4 so far.
Els is building a snowman as I type.
Mickelson and Havret aren't doing much but they haven't fallen apart, either.
McDowell is the only one looking remotely solid, but he just plunked one into a bunker.

Someone is going to "win" by default the way this thing is going, so far.

I am not sure who wants to win this tournament! No one is doing anything but pretty much backing up. McDowell may win just because no one in the leader packs is charging...If Mickelson could putt, he could easily be running away with this. He used to be one of the best putters on tour but lately he is either hot or sucks. Two three putts today....

Ok, is it just me or does anyone else just want to punch Johnny Miller in the face.....

I haven't even noticed him. Is he doing commentary? Not sure why that would be a big deal.

Yep. Looks like he may coast home unless someone gets hot the last 2-3 holes. It has been a comedy of errors today.

Dustin Johnson's implosion was certainly the best storyline for the day. And the only thing most people will remember from this tournament in the years ahead.

54 hold leader shoots an 82. :slappy:

Worst final round score by a 54 hole leader sinbce 1911. Then he stormed off of 18 without shaking hands with the winner after the round. Lost some respect for DJ today...maybe this will help him grow up.

I was ready to concede the championship to Woods after yesterday's final nine, but he left that game in the clubhouse today. But then so did everyone else.

Hats off majorylt to the French guy...he's one of the few players who bought zero stock in the Tiger mystique and played very well...and better than Tiger. US players, take note.

Can anyone name a single great shot that took place in the final round?

Such a great course, but such mediocre golf.

There were lots of great shots --but they were immediately followed by poor ones. Mickelson especially and especially when he played a potential eagle into a par. For the last three holes McDowell and Havert kept their heads while all the big names and Johnson kept trying to win with the spectacular shot.

Wasn't it the Masters two years back when a Canadian took an all-but-insurmountable-lead into the last day and was out of it by the 8th hole?
