The head coach calls for an investigation into the incident on Michigan’s sideline.

With just a few minutes left in the third quarter of Ohio State’s 31-20 win over the Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State’s fifth-year senior quarterback J.T. Barrett went out of the game following what appeared to be an injury on a rather common tackle following a 10-yard scramble. However, after heading back to the locker room, he was unable to continue, and was replaced by redshirt-freshman Dwayne Haskins, who led the Buckeyes to the comeback victory.

However, in his post-game press conference, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer revealed that the injury that would ultimately lead to J.T. Barrett exiting the game was brought on, at least in part, by a collision with a cameraman pre-game. Meyer was upset, to put it delicately.

According to other reports, the incident might not have been a simple case of an unfortunate run-in on the notoriously cramped Big House sidelines.

I spoke with someone who saw what happened with JT Barrett. They viewed what happened with JT as malicious, not accidental.

Just one account. FWIW. #Buckeyes @FOX19

Postgame, Barrett downplayed the injury and indicated that it was something that he had been dealing with for a while, and that he anticipated it getting better with treatment throughout the week.

For his part, the three-year captain said that he did not believe that the incident with the camera operator was deliberate.
