Updates, housekeeping, holy hell the season starts tomorrow

That was you?!?!

Glad things are looking up for you! :-) This GIF is also a pretty good representation of the Poli Forum at times.

Tragically, it probably looked very much like that. My front wheel hit that oily mud as I was just on the slightest turn, it shot out from under me and turned 180deg when it snapped against the curb. I went forward and over head first, came down equally on my face and chest (right side, both) and managed (unfortunately) to get my hands under me. Was going less than 20 at the time, but not by much.

Just ragdoll, stupid!

In that serene moment when you know you're about to wipe out and everything's going slow -- it was actually sort of fun. Then the shock of impact prevented any pain. I just sat down on the curb and counted my teeth. Gave HS kids running by the old Ed Norton smile from Fight Club.

Just put up a new garage door opener yesterday. Would have been easier with 2 people but turned out good.

Just wanted to chime in on a couple of these items. First and foremost, very glad to hear such good updates from you, Clarity. Here's hoping it keeps trending positive!

Regarding the poli board, I don't participate much in there but I do check it on the regular. Personally, I don't discuss too much politics or religion, but feel it's important to hear the opinions of other folks, as wide-ranging as I can manage. Based on the various shared interests we all have here at BP, and the thoughtful conversations that accompany those topics, it can be easier than a lot of online locations to gauge the level weight we can apply to the shared opinions of other posters. Along those lines, I've always felt the poli forum was a very reasonable place to get the thoughts of folks whose opinions I can value, even when I don't necessarily agree with it. There's plenty of disagreement; plenty of bullshit; plenty of uncomfortable discourse. But, more often than not, even the most heated arguments peter out without anyone truly harmed. And there's been plenty of times I hear of a perspective that is new to me, changing my own views in even the slightest way. It's similar to hanging at the bar late into the evening; except we can't actually escalate things to a point of ridiculousness (or physicality) as happens too often. There's always going to be folks that can't hold a reasonable level of acceptance with these topics so they choose to leave. My hope would be we can continue to debate and philosophize as Buckeyes, patriots/dissenters, theists/atheists/agnostics, and whatever other labels we place on ourselves (and others). Appreciate the community we have here; it's rare in this weird digital world. My thanks to all of you for making it that way.

Dude. You forgot to say that you also don't need penicillin after a late night visit here. Drinks are cheaper too.

I had uncomfortable discourse the other night but I'm getting old so I'll take what I can get
