As this season concludes, we all have heard about the impact stars. How about some credit for those who we don't always hear about? I'll start off with Jim Heacock. I thought he did a fantastic job throughout the year, and especially tonight. Remember, he had to match wits with Weis. While we were dinged here and there, to hold the guru to 20 was pretty darn good. An awesome run defense through the season, increased pressure, and a solid pass defense after the catch, well, my hat is off to Coach Heacock.

I agree with all the Heacock accolades.

I'll also nominate Doug Datish. That guy has become as good a road-grader as I've seen. He's consistently piling through his man and continuing to block several yards up ahead of the play. Most improved player for the season, hands down.

I'm very impressed with the job Coach Hazell has done, especially with Teddy. Kid was recruited as a DB and played QB his senior year of high school. He is now well on his way to be a top all-around WR. Runs routes, comes back when the QB is scrambling, blocks, catches the tough balls, and he has just a bit of speed. :wink2:

I wanted to add another: superstitions. Like choosing to wear the white jerseys at the Fiesta Bowl.

Also, like wearing my lucky shirt: "Tressel's Troops." That's right, and I know all of you out there did the same.

It's weak to drag up a thread that you started, but I really feel that there are so many guys that don't always get recognized for what they do. Here's a few for today:

Aaron Pettrey - do not underestimate the importance of KO's into the end zone, a big FG, and no missed PAT's.
Brian Hartline - heckuva block, as noted in his personal thread.
The Mighty P's - Quinn and David are swallowing up blocks, allowing others to make plays.
The O-Line - great job when we needed to pound the ball, and solid in protection.
Chris Wells - nothing flashy, just a solid performance
The Punt Team - great job all the way around.

Yeah, we have star power, but you win championships with a team.
