5 Errors cost Buckeyes Game 3

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Ohio State baseball team fell short at UNLV, 8-7, Sunday afternoon at Wilson Stadium. The Rebels (7-7) posted a seven-run, sixth inning and took advantage of five Ohio State errors in the contest to post a 2-1 lead in the four-game, non-conference series. At least they were able to get the split, could had been worse. That being said it should had been better, UNLV is not good.
    Yep.

    Bucks gain split with UNLV

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Ohio State baseball team claimed an 8-7 win to split a four-game series at UNLV Tuesday night at Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 8-6-1, while the Rebels fall to 7-8 in 2016.

"The key was just winning tonight and getting out of here with a split," head coach Greg Beals said. "We're not happy with a split but that's all that we could do coming into tonight's ball game. We got some key hits with the offense and I really liked how the bullpen pitched. We're going to use the guys. It was great to see Yianni go two innings strong. We need to clean up our defense and support our pitching staff and I know we are capable of playing quality defense."

    no [Mark May], beals
brody, I'm RARELY on the bandwagon to fire a coach. In fact, outside of Cooper, I don't think I've ever wanted an OSU coach fired.

Until now. Beals is in over his head. There is no reason why OSU should field a mediocre team in baseball. Bill Davis Stadium is one of the nicest venues for baseball in the B1G. The athletic dept has money coming out of their ass. Ohio is a talent-rich state in the sport. Where would you rank OSU's baseball program vs other in-state schools? They sure as hell are not no. 1.

But I guess when you only have 900 people at a game and no demand for improvement from the fan base and alumni, people like Gene Smith just won't give a damn. It's a shame.
