COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State baseball team swept a doubleheader against Northern Kentucky, picking up a 9-8 win in the opener before winning the nightcap 6-5 Wednesday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. The Buckeyes improve to 30-13 on the season while Northern Kentucky drops to 8-37.
Game 1
The Norse took the early lead in the top of the first off Ohio State starter Jake Post. Bradley Vanderglas doubled to left-center with one down, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single to center by Brad Clement to give Northern Kentucky the 1-0 lead.
Ohio State responded with a run to tie it against Northern Kentucky starter Tim Clark in the bottom of the second. Jacob Bosiokovic doubled off the wall in left-center to lead off the inning, moved to third when Zach Ratcliff reached on a throwing error and scored when Aaron Gretz grounded into a double play to make it a 1-1 game.
